Avi Patel signed his commitment to attend Denison University and represent their Varsity Men’s Fencing Team as an epeeist on Wednesday April 29th, 2026. The 2026-2027 season will be the first season for Denison’s men’s varsity fencing program. They have had a women’s varsity program since 2019 and a club program since 2012.

Avi started fencing with Olympian Fencing Club in 2016. “I’m excited for Avi to help shape the legacy of Denison’s varsity fencing program”, said Head Coach, Tommi Hurme. “We’re thrilled he plans to continue fencing at the collegiate level.”
